Council for the City of Port Alberni is pleased to announce the City’s purchase of the former Tidebrook Motel property at 4356 Gertrude Street.  The purchase price of the property is $195,000 and the deal completed on August 31^st, 2015.

The Alberni-Clayoquot Regional District (ACRD) has issued a new release (#4) providing an update on the fire at Dog Mountain near Sproat Lake.  You can view the release by clicking here.

The Ministry of Environment in collaboration with Island Health has issued a Wildfire Smoke Advisory for the east and south coast of Vancouver Island from Campbell River to Victoria, including the Alberni Valley. This situation is expected to persist until meteorological conditions change.

The Alberni Clayoquot Regional District activated a Level One Emergency Operations Centre as of 3 pm, Saturday July 4, 2015. The purpose is to provide support for the Forest Service in their response to the Dog Mountain Forest Fire at Sproat Lake.
