Property Search Requests are typically requested by members of the public and are used for real estate transactions or for general property information. If the applicant is not the current owner of the property, authorization must be provided to the applicant. If the owner does not provide authorization, only limited, public information will be available. It is not guaranteed that searches will produce requested plans and records due to the age of buildings and alterations, or due to work being performed without relevant permits.

Payment can be made via cheque mailed or delivered to Port Alberni City Hall Attn: Development Services, or can be paid by cash/debit in-person at the Development Services front counter. Payments by credit card are not currently accepted as a payment option.

Property Search Requests are processed as soon as possible from the date of payment, and in the order that they are received. Depending upon the size and nature of files requested, this can take up to two weeks. Applicants will be notified as soon as files are ready for pick-up/delivery.
