Port Alberni, BC – To ensure a steady supply of safe drinking water during our hot summer, Stage 1 Water Restrictions start July 1, 2022.

Starting Friday July 1st from 6 to 9 a.m. and 6 to 9 p.m., odd-numbered addresses can water their lawns, trees, shrubs and flowers on odd-numbered calendar days; even-numbered addresses can water on even-numbered calendar days.

Port Alberni, BC – The City of Port Alberni invites residents to participate in an E-Town Hall Financial Plan meeting on Monday, March 7, 2022 at 7:00 p.m.

While the event takes place in Council Chambers at City Hall (4850 Argyle Street), the E-Town format will allow for comments and questions to be received from those in attendance, as well as those viewing from the comfort of their home via Zoom webinar.

Port Alberni, BC – The City of Port Alberni has received notice of a decision from the Agricultural Land Commission [ALC] in response to the City’s application to exclude 11.5 ha of land located at 5366 Smith Road, Port Alberni and commonly known as the McLean Mill National Historic Site.

Starting Monday, December 20, 2021, Recycle BC has resumed the collection of non-deposit glass bottles and jars at all ACRD Recycle BC depots, incuding the 3rd Ave. Depot in Port Alberni.

Collection had been temporarily suspended due to reduced transportation resulting from BC floods.

PLEASE NOTE:  Collection of foam packaging remains suspended at this time.
