PORT ALBERNI – The Alberni-Clayoquot Regional District, City of Port Alberni, the District of Ucluelet, Tseshaht, Hupačasath, Tla-o-qui-aht, Huu-ay-aht, Uchucklesaht, Toquaht, and Yuułuʔiłʔatḥ join together to thank tourists for NOT travelling to our communities at this time.

As fuel supplies are extremely limited, we are asking for support in limiting travel to essential purposes only. The safety of our residents is our primary concern, and we need to ensure our emergency services have adequate supply of fuel to continue delivering services.

PORT ALBERNI – We are not strangers to adversity in the Alberni Valley. When tough times hit, we rally together and do what must be done to make sure everyone gets through it.

The past two days are another example of our community doing just that. As I share our story with the world through the interviews I do, I am proud of how strong we are and how we handle difficult situations. We do not panic. We dig in and get things done together.
