Port Alberni – The City of Port Alberni’s crew worked through the night with contractors and are 
making progress on repairs to the waterline that was damaged yesterday in a logging truck accident.

As long as there are no unforeseen setbacks on site, the City anticipates the waterline will be 
fully repaired today by the end of day. Water restrictions are still in place, and the City 
appreciates residents going above and beyond to limit their use to essential water use only.

Port Alberni – An accident on Franklin River Road has damaged the City of Port Alberni’s main water supply line. As a result, the City of Port Alberni and the Alberni-Clayoquot Regional District have activated the Emergency Operations Centre and are asking residents to limit water use until further notice in order that best use is made of the water in City reservoirs.

Port Alberni, BC – At the Committee of the Whole meeting of February 6, 2023 the City of Port Alberni launched an overview of its draft Five-Year Financial Plan (the Financial Plan) that will determine major financial decisions and commitments to our community. A detailed draft Financial Plan was subsequently received by City Council for consideration and first reading of the Financial Plan Bylaw provided at its Regular meeting of February 13th.

Ms. Leurebourg brings a wealth of knowledge to the role, honing her local government experience over recent years. Along with bringing proven skills in government relations and advocacy to her new role at the City, Ms. Leurebourg has continued to further advance her knowledge of corporate administration and is in the final stages of completing a Master of Business Administration.

Port Alberni, BC –The City of Port Alberni and the Port Alberni Professional Fire Fighters Association (PAPFFA) Local 1667, have reached a new five-year collective agreement, retroactive to January 1, 2020.

The agreement was ratified by the union on Friday, October 28, 2022, and by City of Port Alberni Council on Monday, October 31, 2022. The new contract covers a five-year period and will expire on December 31, 2024.

Port Alberni, BC – To ensure a steady supply of safe drinking water during our hot summer, Stage 1 Water Restrictions start July 1, 2022.

Starting Friday July 1st from 6 to 9 a.m. and 6 to 9 p.m., odd-numbered addresses can water their lawns, trees, shrubs and flowers on odd-numbered calendar days; even-numbered addresses can water on even-numbered calendar days.
