City Offers $10,000 Reward

Port Alberni, BC – During the week of October 26, 2020, the City responded to the report of a release of oil from a rail tank car at McLean Mill National Historic Site.

It has since been determined that the oil was released through a closed valve that was found to be in the ‘open’ position. The Port Alberni RCMP are actively investigating this incident and are looking for the public’s assistance to help solve this file.

The City of Port Alberni is offering a $10,000 reward for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of individual(s) responsible for this damage. If you have information that could help solve this file, please call the RCMP non-emergency line at 250-723-2424 and reference the Police File Number 2020-12134.
