Pleasurable Diversions in the Alberni Valley
On Display Now at the Museum
The natural beauty of the Alberni Valley has long been a draw for tourists and future residents, coming to partake in various outdoor pursuits, many of which are still popular today: hiking, boating, fishing, hunting, swimming, painting and sketching. This exhibit focuses on the outdoor activities enjoyed by visitors to the valley during the period 1900 to 1960. The exhibit features a recreation of the sitting room of Klitsa Lodge, lots of local stories and an original Emily Carr painting!
