Port Alberni, BC – December 3, 2025 - The City of Port Alberni announces today that Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) Mike Fox will be leaving his role to assume the position of CAO with the District of North Vancouver.
Mike joined the City of Port Alberni in March 2023, and has been instrumental in advancing Council’s strategic priorities, strengthening municipal operations, and fostering collaboration with community partners. Under his leadership, significant progress has been made in key initiatives, including infrastructure planning, economic development, and environmental stewardship.
“On behalf of Council and staff, I want to extend our heartfelt thanks to Mike for his dedication and leadership during his time with the city,” said Mayor Sharie Minions. “His contributions have positioned Port Alberni for continued success, and we wish him all the best in his new role.”
Mike expressed gratitude for the time spent in Port Alberni, stating “It has been an honour to serve this community and work alongside such a dedicated team. I am proud of what we have accomplished together and look forward to seeing Port Alberni continue to thrive. The friendships my wife and I have made here will endure.”
The city will commence the recruitment process for a new CAO immediately to ensure a smooth transition.
