Fire Prevention and Inspection

The Fire Prevention Officer, Fire Chief and Deputy Fire Chief all hold the position of Local Assistant to the Fire Commissioner.

The Fire Prevention / Inspection Office Is Responsible for:

* Enforcing the Provincial and Municipal fire codes and regulations
* Fire Safety Inspections of existing buildings
* Reviewing and approving plans for proposed buildings
* Inspection of Woodburner installations
* Fire Safety programs in schools
* Fire Prevention Week in October
* Fire safety talks to schools
* Assisting the Fire Chief and the Deputy Fire Chief with Fire Cause Determination
