There are several easy ways to pay your property taxes or utilities that will ensure you won’t have to wait in line!

UTILITY PRE- AUTHORIZED PAYMENT PLAN |

After your current property taxes have been paid, enroll in our automatic monthly prepayment program for next year. The program includes ten fixed amount automatic debits from your bank account on the 15th day of each month from August to May. The balance, if any is due on the Tax Due Date. Interest is paid on a monthly basis - at rates more than the average savings account! |
Unlike the Pre Payment plan, this program does not require your taxes to be paid in full before enrollment and is aimed at those who want year round consistency in payments. This program includes 12 equal monthly payments – you choose the amount – taken by automatic debit from your bank account on the 15th day of each month year round! |
This program will allow you to not only avoid line ups, but also avoid a late payment penalty! The total amount of your utility bill will be taken from your bank account by automatic debit on the Due date of your bill. |
Application forms can be mailed in with a void cheque or contact our office and we will be pleased to send you a brochure with complete details.

HOME OWNER GRANT PROGRAM
If eligible, home owner grant application forms must be completed in full, signed and received at City Hall by the tax due date. Payment is not required at the time of making application for the grant, however, outstanding amounts will be subject to the late penalty charge. If your application requires supporting documentation, please submit it along with your application. Credit for the home owner grant is not automatic.
City of Port Alberni residents eligible for the Home Owner Grant deduction can claim their grant at anytime through out the year.
