The Museum has three specific funds established at this time:
The Val Hughes Heritage Fair Fund commemorates a long time supporter of the Museum and local history. The Hughes fund supports excellence in the educational workshops presented to youth attending the Museum’s regional Heritage Fair in May of each year. Heritage Fair is a national program that inspires young people about Canadian cultural heritage.
Share Our History Fund supports the digitization of the Museum’s historical photograph collection and makes it accessible via the Museum’s web site. A grant from the Irving K Barber BC History Digitization Program is enabling the Museum to initiate web access and funds are now sought to increase the number of accessible images. The collection includes a wealth of images documenting all aspects of community history.
McLean Mill Camp Building Fund supports repairs and restoration of the camp buildings at the McLean Mil National Historic Site. Conservation is currently being carried out with funding from the Heritage Legacy Fund of British Columbia. Public assistance is requested to allow more extensive repairs to the buildings. Visitors can enter the camp buildings to experience the stories of the people who lived and worked at the mill and others like it.
