Premier Gordon Campbell announced the names of three community leaders who will be part of a once-in-a-lifetime chance to profile their communities abroad. Port Alberni Mayor Ken McRae, Mayor Ross Forrest of Lake Cowichan and Carol Kulesha, Mayor of Queen Charlotte Village will be flying to Athens, Greece to bring the Olympic flame home to British Columbia. The mayors will accompany Olympic officials on the historic journey. The 2010 Olympic Winter Games torch will be lit from the Olympic flame in a ceremony in Olympia on October 29. The mayors will be part of the delegation delivering the flame to Victoria to begin the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Torch Relay. Premier Gordon Campbell, assisted by President-Elect Harry Nyce, drew the names from a pool of delegates attending the Premier’s address to UBCM yesterday
