Rhonda Johnson of Batstar Cafe & Picnic and Batstar Adventure Tours and Michelle LaPointe of EM Salon have been featured in a book celebrating the pioneering spirit of BC businesswomen. Michelle and Rhonda were selected from across the province as two of 100 BC women featured as New Pioneers in a recent book published by the Women's Enterprise Centre. The idea for the book came from a survey, wherein 94% of the respondents said entrepreneurship is a valuable option for women, but only 40% could identify a woman entrepreneur. Through the book, the Women's Enterprise Centre hopes to build awareness, and to encourage, influence and inspire girls and women to consider entrepreneurship. The public can order free copies of the book from www.womensenterprise.ca/newpioneers. It's an inspiring compilation of short biographies and photos of a diverse group of out-of-the-box thinkers.
Photos from the book launch can be found at http://www.womensenterprise.ca/newpioneers
Congratulations Rhonda and Michelle.
