Registration and Non-City Resident

Registration for programs is really easy. You can come in to one of our facilities, register by phone, or send it in by regular mail. The registration details listed below are easy to follow.

Different registration fees are applied to City Residents and Non City Residents. Details are explained in the information below.

Please have the following ready when registering:

• Course name and code
• Registrant's name, birthdate, address, phone number & name of parent or guardian
• City Resident Card or proof of City Residency
• We gladly accept Cash, Cheques (payable to the City of Port Alberni Parks & Recreation Department), VISA/MC and Debit Card at the time of registration.

General Registration Policy:

1. All registrations are processed on a first-come, first-serve basis.
2. Pre-registration is required for all classes except when specified as a drop-in class.
3. Please read confirmation receipts carefully for important information.

Non-City Resident Policy

The City of Port Alberni has a fee policy that is applied to all Non-city residents. This policy applies to all Non-City residents who participate in public sessions and programs which are organized or offered by the Parks and Recreation Department. The policy is intended to help equalize the costs to City residents and non-City residents for the use of these facilities, given that only City residents help to subsidize their operation through taxation.

City Resident

To obtain a City Resident Card you must be registered in the Parks and Recreation computer. If you are not already registered please fill out a form and return it to Echo '67 Centre with proof of City residency. Sproat Lake, Beaver Creek and Cherry Creek Electoral Area residents are now entitled to pay the same rates as City of Port Alberni residents for public session admissions and registered programs. This change is due to a Grant In Aid contribution paid to the City by the Sproat Lake, Beaver Creek and Cherry Creek Electoral Areas.

Not a City Resident ?

Public Session Admission - Non-City residents are required to pay the full admission rate to public sessions at the Echo Aquatic Centre, A.V. Multiplex and Glenwood Centre. City Residents with current resident cards are entitled to a discounted rate.

Registered Programs - Non-City residents pay 50% more for all Parks & Recreation registered classes and programs.

Non-City Residents may purchase a City Resident Card

Non-City Residents may purchase a City Resident Card at Echo '67 Centre at a cost of $160.00 + HST per family per year ($160.00 + HST for Beaufort area residents). Cards are valid one year from the date of issue. The card entitles all immediate family members to discounts on admission rates, elimination of the 50% additional fee for registered classes and programs.

However, if for some reason, you are not completely satisfied with one of our programs, please contact our staff to arrange for a refund or credit towards another program.
