MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL COUNCIL MEETING

HELD MONDAY, FEBRUARY 13, 2006 AT 6:00 PM

IN THE CITY HALL COUNCIL CHAMBERS

PRESENT:      Mayor McRae, Councillors Chopra, McLeman, Mealey, Patterson, Solda

                         and Whiteman. 

                         6 Members of the public in attendance. 

                         Televised on Shaw Cable. 

Call to Order and Adoption of Agenda 

Mayor McRae called the meeting to order at 6:00 pm.

That the agenda be adopted as circulated.

2.           Presentation of highlights of 2006-2010 Financial Plan - Ken Watson, City Manager 

The City Manager presented highlights of the 2006-2010 Financial Plan and the public consultation process.  He also indicated that the draft 5 Year Financial Plan Working Papers were available from City Hall and on the City's web site, and that input from the public is encouraged.

3.           Summaries of major departmental initiatives in the Financial Plan were heard from:  

              - Guy Cicon, City Engineer

              - Scott Kenny, Director of Parks and Recreation

              - Larry McGifford, Fire Chief

              - Jean McIntosh, Director, Alberni Valley Museum

              - Scott Smith, City Planner    

4.           Review of dates and subsequent Financial Plan Review meetings

              Dates of upcoming Financial Plan meetings were reviewed noting that the next meeting will be held on Thursday, February 16, 2006.

5.           Adjournment
