B. REPORTS
Report dated June 5, 2006 from the City Planner for Council to consider the issuance of Development Variance Permit No. 54 for:
Lot A, District Lot 21, Alberni District, Plan VIP62429 - 5700 Pierce Road to vary the north property line setback from 7.5 meters to 5.5 meters and the west property line setback from 7.5 meters to 0 meters; and
Lot B, District Lot 21, Alberni District, Plan VIP 62429 - 5578 Beaver Creek Road to vary the north property line and east property line setbacks from 7.5 meters to 5.5 meters.

That the report from the City Planner dated June 5, 2006 regarding proposed Development Variance Permit No. 54, be received and Council proceed with consideration of the Development Variance Permit.

Councillor Patterson asked why there was a need for the Development Variance Permit and why a 0 meter setback on the west side was required.
The applicant noted it is because of the road configuration and lot layout to allow for the home size they want (approximately 1,500 sq. ft.).

That Development Variance Permit No. 54 to vary Section 6.10.3 of Port Alberni Zoning Bylaw 1998, No. 4395 as follows:
vary the north property line setback from 7.5 metres to 5.5 meters and the west property line setback from 7.5 meters to 0 meters,
on land legally described as Lot A, District Lot 21, Alberni District, Plan VIP62429 (5700 Pierce Road);
and to vary Section 6.10.3 of Port Alberni Zoning Bylaw No. 4395 as follows:
vary the north property line and east property line setbacks from 7.5 meters to 5.5 meters.
on land legally described as Lot B, District Lot 21, Alberni District, Plan VIP62429 (5578 Beaver Creek Road), be authorized by resolution of the City Council on June 15th, 2006.
