1. Alberni Happy Hatters
Members of the Alberni Happy Hatters were in attendance
as "Red Hatters" accompanied by musicians and a speaker. They sang songs, provided an introduction to
the group and read poetry for Council.

Mike
Kuruliak and Dave Thompson were in attendance to discuss child labour and
changes to employment standards in BC which, in their opinion, are the worst in
Council
requested copies of the legislation before considering this matter further.

Anne
Graboski was in attendance to update Council on the Society's work in the
community. She provided information
about a community-wide, free conference on February 24 and 25, 2005 to address
the concern that some children may be victims of sexual exploitation. She requested a letter of support from the
City and invited Council and any interested staff to attend the conference,
where a Community Action Team will be formed.

Alberni write a letter of support for the Port Alberni Women's Resources
Society's proposal for provincial funding for a community action team to
address sexual exploitation of children and youth, that Council attempt to attend
